23rd Taste of the Hudson Valley
10/5/2011
The 23rd edition of the Taste of the Hudson Valley is coming noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie. This is the most important annual fundraiser for Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers. Proceeds will help fund a variety of ongoing projects. Tickets are on sale at tastehv.org
The Saint Francis Health Care Foundation-sponsored international wine and food festival features exquisite fare from more than 40 of the region’s finest restaurants and purveyors. All wine is procured by Viscount Wines and Liquor which for more than a decade has partnered to present the Taste of the Hudson Valley with Saint Francis Hospital.
One aspect that separates this event from the smaller ones that have spawned in the wake of the hospital’s Taste is that the wines differ at the various restaurant booths and are matched to each food offering.
The Michael Dell Orchestra will provide music and there will be live and silent auctions. Among the auctions items: autographed memorabilia from Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter; a guitar signed by all members of The Rolling Stones; and an English language bible autographed by Pope John Paul II.
The continuing success of the annual event is evidence of the hospital’s support in the community it has served for 97 years, said hospital Special Events Manager Nicholas Shannon. “Like many individuals and businesses in the community, our hospital is going through challenging times. The Taste reaffirms that we’re here to stay.”
Tickets are priced at $200 per person. Visit the web site or call for ticket and sponsorship opportunities information (845-431-8707).
