Saint Francis Hospital's Emergency Psychiatric Services has been accredited for five years by the Washington, D.C.-based American Association of Suicidology (AAS).
The Association was established in1968 by Edwin S. Schneidman Ph.D. and is a membership organization that involves those who are associated with suicide prevention and intervention, or touched by suicide. AAS is also a leader in the advancement of scientific and programmatic efforts in suicide prevention through the use of research, education, and training. AAS also uses the development of standards and resources, and survivor services.
Nancy Magliocca, Director of Inpatient Behavioral Health Services, acknowledged the accreditation and extended her appreciation to Director of Patient Care Services Ann Vokes, RN, Emergency Department Nurse Manager Bridget Romani, Judy Canham and Mary Chin for their efforts toward the goal.
