Saint Francis Tops in State
4/27/2012
Saint Francis Hospital is ranked first in New York State and 49th nationally for how well it meets national standards for the care of patients with heart failure, pneumonia, heart attack and certain aspects of the care of patients who undergo surgery.
The report was provided by the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) based on data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The “Hospital Compare” data was collected for CMS between April 2010 and March 2011, reported in the 4th quarter of 2011 and recently released.
In that data, Saint Francis ranked first in the state out of 155 hospitals and 49th nationally out of 3,044 hospitals.
“To be #1 is very special,” said Margaret Greenly, Director, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. “We know in our hearts that we strive to do our best, but to have it confirmed by objective data is very affirming of our commitment to our patients.”
